Privacy policy
BaseStep is a product of Involve Media Inc., based in Belleville, Ontario. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect through basestep.app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- What you send us. When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, and anything else you choose to give us — your phone number, business name and message.
- Basic technical details. Your IP address and browser type, recorded with each form submission so we can spot spam and abuse.
- Website analytics — only with your permission. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records anonymous information about how the site is used, such as pages visited and how you found us. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and follow up about BaseStep.
- To keep a record of our conversation in our customer management system, so anyone helping you has the context.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
We don't sell your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be added.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site and respond to you — website hosting, our customer management and email systems, and Google Analytics. They only handle your information to provide those services to us. Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to talk with you and for normal business records, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
Your choices
- Ask to see the information we hold about you, or have it corrected.
- Ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to us contacting you.
- Change your mind about analytics cookies by clearing this site's cookies in your browser.
To do any of these, send us a message through our contact page and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page.
